Hi! My name is Ashley, and words are my specialty. I have a Bachelor of Arts in English Writing and Linguistics, a minor in Secondary Education, and a 60-hour TESOL certification. Whether you’re struggling with that English class essay, preparing for the SAT Reading and Writing section, or learning English as a second language, I’m here to help you build the language-based skills you need to succeed.

Over the past five years, I’ve tutored in a range of settings. Most recently, I worked as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant in the Czech Republic, where I taught English as a Foreign Language to over 350 students ages 15-19. My classroom lessons covered reading, writing, and grammar, while I also offered small-group and one-on-one tutoring for students with specific goals. Previously, I served as a Literacy Tutor for children with dyslexia or other learning differences, using the Orton-Gillingham approach to improve students’ reading fluency. I’ve also provided one-on-one SAT tutoring and college mentoring, helping students craft high-quality, memorable personal statements and scholarship essays.

As an educator, I believe confidence is key. I strive to foster a positive and encouraging learning environment where mistakes are just part of the growth process. In lessons, I tailor the instruction to your individual needs, provide many opportunities to practice new skills, and always give detailed, personalized feedback. Wonderful English tutor

Ashley has been such a positive influence on my 11 year old boy Martin. He has already developed the proverbial habit of a surgeon at his tender age: if you want to keep anything away from him, hide it in a book ;) Since taking online lessons with Ashely, he has become more enthusiastic about verbal skills. Ashley spends time preparing lessons to make them interesting and productive. She is also super understanding and accommodating with schedule changes (sometimes even last minute). Her flexibility with lesson schedules makes everything possible given Martin's busy after school activities. I am already planning to get my younger boy on board with her when he will be ready in a few years. I highly recommend Ashley as a tutor and as a mentor. Thank you!
