Penn State Masters Student for Accounting Tutoring

I am a recent graduate of an Integrated Master’s of Accounting program and I have completed all four CPA exams. Through my coursework, I have been exposed to basic and advanced financial accounting, including exposure to advanced consolidations. Additionally, I have successfully taken managerial, tax, and audit classes, with advanced coursework in estate and foreign tax transactions. Finally, I have taken credits in financial valuation, financial statement analysis, and forecasting. Through my ten semesters of college, I have been recognized on Penn State's Dean's List every semester, and I have graduated with honors from the Smeal College of Business at Penn State. Financial accounting is an area I feel very comfortable with and would be happy to help in any way that I can.

Over the past five years, I have completed three different accounting internships, first as a cost-accounting intern, then as an accounting intern at a life insurance company, and finally as an assurance intern at a Big 4 accounting firm. After school, I plan to work full-time for that firm in their assurance practice. Through these experiences, I feel very comfortable with financial accounting and analysis, especially as it pertains to the needs of other college students. Furthermore, I truly enjoy working with people to help them understand these concepts the same way other people have helped me in the past.

As far as my tutoring methods, I can tailor my services depending on the needs of the student. If a student needs assistance with standardized exams, I would be happy to walk through practice problems. If a college student needs help with a particular concept from class, I could walk through his/her class notes prior to our meeting and be ready to explain the concept during the meeting. Whatever I can do to meet the needs of a student, I would be happy to try.
