I miss being a teacher. In addition to homeschooling my own seven kids, I have taught Children's Church, homeschool groups, my grandchildren, illiterate adults, women's groups, and little ones. In addition, I proofread every paper my son-in-law wrote for his college classes.

In my homeschool, I have taught life science, weather, general science, and more. Because of my interest in genetics (I took a college class) I explained the basics of dominant and recessive genes. We learned about the history of science, as well - the process and famous scientists. Our framework was a creationist approach. I will not be teaching evolution.

I have extensive knowledge about the Bible. I read it for myself and have listened to preachers and teachers weekly, at least, for over 40 years. I have memorized a number of scriptures. The thread that weaves both the Old and New Testament together is Jesus Christ.

My seven children are a variety pack, for sure. Their homeschool experience prepared them to be a sales manager, a nurse, an adjunct professor, an Arabic linguist, business owners, and a mother and farmette owner, I had to recognize their strengths, weaknesses, interests, and skills and design a unique pathway for each.

Every child needs a foundation in phonics in order to be a good reader. While using different curricula, games, and readers, the approach was very similar.

I grew up with a mom who sang and danced around the house. I have always sung in church and school choirs and choruses. I played flute in the band and violin in the orchestra. I had my own music and movement business for littles and their parents.
