As both an educator and a parent of three boys (17, 15, and 12), I understand firsthand the challenges students face in balancing confidence, motivation, and mastery of tough subjects. I have been teaching and tutoring math for over 20 years at the high school and college level. My goal is always to help students build a strong foundation, and guide them toward lasting success.

I specialize in courses ranging from Prealgebra, Algebra, and Geometry to Precalculus, AP Calculus, AP Statistics, and college-level Calculus I, II & III, Probability, and Discrete Math. Beyond math, I also enjoy teaching computer science and similar subjects such as Python, Database Design, Tableau, Data Structures, and any Data Science courses.

My approach is student-centered and flexible. I focus on clear explanations, step-by-step strategies, and plenty of practice, always adapting to each learner’s pace and goals. I’ve supported students preparing for AP exams, standardized tests, and advanced coursework, as well as those simply needing ongoing encouragement in a challenging subject.

With a background in computer science and a certificate in Data Analytics and Visualization from the University of Pennsylvania (2023), I’m equally excited to support students in traditional math and the growing fields of data science and programming. Above all, I want students to gain confidence and feel capable of tackling new challenges in and beyond the classroom.

Please contact me today to schedule - I look forward to connecting with you!

Courses include, but not limited to: Calculus (I, II and III), Precalculus, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Prealgebra, Finite Math, Probability and Statistics, Geometry, Discrete Math.
Computer Science

Computer Science

I completed a Data Science Program at University of Pennsylvania and have years of teaching mathematics along with a computer science background. Technical skills include: Python, JavaScript, HTML5, SQL, NoSQL, GitHub, MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, GIT, AWS, ELT, Flask, Tableau, Pandas, Jupyter Notebook, Machine Learning. I look forward to sharing my knowledge with students in the Computer Science field!
Data Science

Data Science

Data analyst with a background in mathematics. I earned a certificate from University of Pennsylvania’s Data Analytics and Visualization Boot Camp. Skills covered: Python, JavaScript, HTML5, SQL, NoSQL, GitHub, MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, GIT, AWS, ELT, Flask, Command Line, Tableau, Excel, Databasing, Pandas, Jupyter Notebook, Machine Learning
Data Structures

Data Structures

After receiving a certificate in Data Analytics and Visualization from University of Pennsylvania in 2023, I taught Data Structures in Fall 2024. The course covered the specification, design, analysis, implementation, and testing of Python programs that use data structures such as linked lists, stacks, and queues. There was wide coverage of the programming techniques of recursion, searching and sorting as well as how to resolve programming errors
Discrete Math

Discrete Math

I have taught math in a variety of settings at the university level for more than 20 years. Me experience ranges from basic algebra to multivariable calculus including elementary education courses with topics of discrete math. I also developed a course at my current institution titled ‘The Nature of Mathematics’ which include discrete math topics!
Finite Math

Finite Math

I have taught all levels of mathematics ranging from basic arithmetic to finite math through calculus. I work collaboratively with math and science teachers for a summer camp program each year that is targeted to middle school students. I also have three school aged children in third, sixth and eight grade that I often help with their math work!
Logic

Logic

I have taught all levels of mathematics including logic, probability and statistics. My experiences in the university setting have allowed me to work with a diverse group of students. I try to approach topics such as logic in different ways to accommodate all students types.
Machine Learning/ AI

Machine Learning/ AI

I completed a certificate in Data Analytics in 2023 and taught the course 'Algorithms in AI' this past Spring 2025. The course provided students with a comprehensive understanding of machine learning (ML) techniques and their practical applications beyond traditional algorithmic approaches. Students explored the ethical, societal, and real-world implications of ML. By the end of the course, students were able to critically assess the potential and limitations of ML models in addressing social issues, design solutions that incorporate ethical considerations, and develop strategies for implementing ML in ways that prioritize human well-being and equity. Topics that were included, but not limited to were supervised and unsupervised learning in practice.
Tableau

Tableau

I received a certificate in Data Analytics and Visualization from University of Pennsylvania in 2023. I recently developed an taught an Introduction to Data Science course that's main visualization used Tableau. Students presented final projects after learning this topic and were able to add the course outcomes to their resumes.
Visual Basic

Visual Basic

I am recently completing the Data Analytics and Visualization Boot Camp at University of Pennsylvania (graduation December 2023). It was a 6 month program consisting of 24 modules with weekly assignments and 4 group projects. We worked on all areas of data science starting with Visual Basic.

Great Session and Will Be Scheduling More Sessions

Elizabeth did a great job connecting with a new student who was tenuous about getting tutored. The outcome was that the student was comfortable scheduling recurring sessions moving forward. Thank you!

Effective and friendly teacher

Elizabeth tutored our twins fur the first time to help them review for a test. They both said she explained things clearly and appreciated her tip on asking the teacher whether they have to memorize the formulas for the test. Looking forward to working with her again!

Knowledgeable, engaging, super smart.

Elizabeth is teaching VB. Net and seems to really know it well. We are working on a program that I designed but couldn't seem to finish because I am not as acquainted with the code as she is. She is the best tutor I have been taught by in many years. I am very happy with my first lesson and am sure will be just as happy with the ones that follow. She is a great tutor.
