Hello, I’m Peter! I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Texas Tech University with a degree in mathematics (GPA 3.94), where I was a Master Tutor at the Techniques Center, an on-campus tutoring center that specializes in tutoring students with learning disabilities, such as ADHD and dyslexia. At the Techniques Center, I received training and became a "Level 3 Tutor" certified with the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA). My work at the Techniques Center taught me how to accommodate students with a variety of learning styles. Overall, I strive to be clear, patient and engaging with my students, and I understand that no two students are the same.

I’ve tutored for over ten years, covering a wide range of math courses from algebra to calculus. I have experience tutoring middle school, high school and university students in both one-on-one and group settings, in-person and online. I believe any math course can be made interesting, and any complex problem can be broken down into simplified parts.

I’ve found that it is important to help visualize abstract math concepts with diagrams and examples, keeping students engaged in their materials, so I am always eager to share whiteboards and online programs that allow us to illustrate problems and concepts, tackling complex ideas from multiple angles. Goal setting is another important aspect of my tutoring, and taking time to plan for upcoming exams and projects. At the start of my sessions, I like to review short-term and long-term deadlines and objectives to put the student’s studies into perspective.

I’ve always enjoyed teaching, and helping to build knowledge and confidence in my students. Please feel free to contact me with any questions! I'm happy to review the materials that you are studying, and discuss if we would be a good fit.

Very knowledgeable, thorough, and patient tutor.

We worked on hypothesis testing. As part of hypothesis testing, we worked on p-values,t-test, and z-test. We also worked on interpreting what these values mean in relation to the hypothesis, especially the null hypothesis.

Knowledgeable and kind tutor

Peter helped me through statistics for engineers. I struggled with the class because I had never taken statistics before and was now in a 500 level stats course. Peter was the most knowledgeable tutor I talked to (many tutors barely had a grasp on what k was learning). He was very kind and he definitely saved my grade in this class. I would highly recommend!
