Hello!
My name is Runa and I am a flute player, performer, and teacher based in Pittsburgh, PA. Throughout middle/high school, I studied with musicians from the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and was a member of the Pittsburgh Youth Symphony. During my undergraduate studies, I moved to Montreal Canada to pursue flute performance under the tutelage of Montreal Symphony Orchestra Flutists. During my four years in Montreal, I performed frequently as a solo, orchestral, and chamber musician but also developed interest in teaching through learning about performance strategies and woodwind pedagogy. I am interested to teach all ages, and my teaching is not only limited to flute but performance strategies and music school audition process consultation. My teaching style reflects my belief that music should be fun, enjoyable, and build confidence. I am now back in Pittsburgh after four years of undergraduate music performance education, and I am very excited to share what I have learned with you!
