I offer personalized, one-on-one tutoring for all Physics and most Mathematics courses.

I have an MS in physics (astrophysics) from the University of Pittsburgh, and and BS in physics with mathematics from Bucknell University.

I have taught physics and mathematics as a college instructor and as a personal tutor for almost a decade. My favorite part of teaching has always been working with students one-on-one, so I love tutoring.

I have an undergraduate degree in Physics and a graduate degree in Astrophysics. The math courses I tutor were used directly and frequently in all my physics courses and in my research.

My favorite subject in school was math, and I view my post-secondary work as the logical continuation of that. I have been teaching and tutoring math for several years, from Algebra I to Calc III.

I meet students regularly at the main branch of the Carnegie Library in Oakland. I am willing to travel for a slightly higher rate.

I love teaching, and I'd love to work with you. Please send me a message if you think I can help.

Great Teacher

Elizabeth has worked with both of my girls for over two years on physics, chemistry, and pre-calculus. She is able to patiently explain topics they found confusing in school in ways that allow them to feel confident and master the concepts. As a result, they have achieved solid As in their STEM classes. Highly recommend her!

Very patient and excellent tutor

Elizabeth was awesome! She really paid attention to all my concerns and was very patient and helpful throughout our session. The foundation she helped me create finally helped me break through the stagnation I was facing in my class. From there, I could build off of everything we covered and improve my weak spots. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone struggling with physics (for further context I am taking college physics II), she’s great!

Extremely Knowledgeable and Patient Tutor!

I had Elizabeth as my tutor for a year while doing Physics 8A and Physics 8B at UC Berkeley. Throughout this time, Elizabeth never failed to be incredibly patient, understanding, and caring. In addition to her extensive knowledge of the subject, Elizabeth has a remarkable ability to simplify difficult physics concepts for her students. She possesses a skill that is rare among teachers and tutors: the ability to develop various methods and approaches to explaining a very complex topic; which is undoubtedly one of the many characteristics that makes Elizabeth an overall incredible tutor. Due to Elizabeth's help, I was able to get an A in my Physics 8B class. Thank you Elizabeth for all your help :)

Wonderful tutor!

Elizabeth is working with my junior in high school on math and physics. She handles any questions with patience and explains the material in a more comprehensive way than my daughter's teachers. Highly recommend!

Deep knowledge of Physics

Elizabeth did an amazing job with my daughter, an AP Physics student. Her explanations were simple and on point. My daughter especially liked that she did not have to explain how her school teacher approached the subject, Elizabeth just taught her the best way possible.

Highly recommend

The class was a college level upper division linear algebra class. Other tutors had reviewed the homework and said they couldn't help. We found Elizabeth and she is wonderful - knows the material and very good tutor.
