During the internship, we are intended to break students’ limit on language understanding and talking skills by debates and controversies on specific theme, which is an efficient way of making great breakthrough on learners’ language level.
Also, I used to work with other teachers to re-write and modified our reading materials preparing for students in order to find the most adapted level. The student that I tutored had reached the advanced high level from intermediate mid according to the OPI test.
I was working as a Chinese teacher to those freshman or sophomore who major in Chinese. During the internship, I begin to familiar with errors that the beginning students usually make and ways of correcting them efficiently, which has become one of the solid foundation of being a good Chinese teacher.
Besides, four-time-per-week preparation meeting made me have sufficient opportunities to work together with my colleagues and discussed the teaching content for subsequent lessons. Also, working as the leader and tutor of candidates of Chinese speech team, I led them to win the champion facing competitors from Princeton University and Harvard University.
