Experienced Math and English tutor, with other teaching abilities

I work a full time remote job during the day, offering tutoring session in the evenings and weekends.
I moved to Pittsburgh in 2019 to attend graduate school at Carnegie Mellon University in Public Policy and Data Analytics. I have a collective 6 years experience tutoring Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry and lower math, as well as experience in other teaching settings (dance, daycare, etc). I also make a living partially through circus performance.
Math was my favorite subject throughout school and I took Calculus for an elective as an undergrad and made an A. After completing my degrees at the University of Texas at Austin in Photojournalism and Psychology, I went to Brazil and taught English in Rio de Janeiro for 6 months. Although I enjoyed it immensely I decided to return to the US to be with family and pursue scientific research. I worked in a neuroscience lab for 2 years at UTexas. Although I absolutely loved learning about the brain, I discovered that the particular kind of research I was involved in was not a good fit for me. I finally found data science, and learned data analysis through an online course, and having been working as a consultant or in government since.

I'm also a circus artist (fire dancer, stilt walker, hula-hooper, juggler, clown, aerial dance/silks), and am available as a performance art or circus coach as well. I have trained in Swing and Lindy hop (and other partner dancing), as well as Samba, and more recently have been delving into partner acrobatics/acro yoga.
