German

I have taken German classes for over six years in various subjects. Having attended a college preparatory school or Gymnasium in Germany, my vocabulary is extensive in varied subjects including but not limited to: religion, literature, art, Spanish, pedagogy, psychology, and politics. While living there, in Cologne, I also went to a Volkhochschule, or a city school, to improve my writing in German and have achieved a C1 status meaning: it would be possible for me to attend university in Germany. I am planning on doing an interdisciplinary masters there after I am finished with my undergraduate degree in Psychology at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh; I can't wait to go back! My minor here at Duquesne is, also, in German. So, I am still confronted and exposed to it almost every day and it prevents me from getting rusty.

Government & Politics

I have a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and I won the civics award, as the sole recipient, in my high school.

Reading

I have tutored kids at three different locations with two different programs over the last two years at PACT and DUV Tutoring, respectfully. I also had worked at a Kindergarten full time for a month during my senior year of high school. That together means that I have over 400 hours of experience working with children. As a kid, I had problems with reading and had to seek help. That time gave me a life long insight to the inner workings of kids works who need a little extra help. From my time spent receiving extra help, I know what works and what doesn't and how one must go about it.
