Approved Subjects

American History

American History

By far my most favorite academic subject in school. I enjoyed American History so much, that I want to help anybody with it. It is amazing, everything our country has done in only 250 years.
Bible Studies

Bible Studies

I have studied the Bible since I was young. I am a Christian, and believe the Bible as the truth, with no exceptions. I know how important this book is to the world, and I would gladly teach anybody looking to learn about it more.
English

English

As an active English teacher, it is my goal to help students thrive in this subject. English classes are not always easy, but learning strategies and skills can make the subject one that is fun and enjoyable. As I enter my 7th year of teaching, I look forward to aiding students through understanding literature, writing, MLA, and more!
ESL/ESOL

ESL/ESOL

I have attended school with many students that aren't from the U.S. I know kids from Saudi Arabia, Ethiopia, etc. I understand how hard it is to come to a new country and learn a brand new language. My classes regularly have ESL students who thrive because of my approach to teaching English.
European History

European History

In school, I took Honors European History. I remember that it was a hard class, but some of the best memories I have ever had. The challenge of the class made the class itself fun. I had a great/bizarre teacher that led the way, and it led me to learn great things. I hope that I can provide a student with that same success.
Fitness

Fitness

When I am not boxing, I am running and strength training. People don't realize how great it feels to exercise and reach goals you never thought possible. I help people build a routine right for them, so they can reach their goals.
Football

Football

I played football when I was young, and I miss the game a lot. I do remember everything I was taught and want to pass it on to kids. A sport teaches discipline and hard-work, and that is what I want to instill into anybody that I teach.
Geography

Geography

Where in the world are we? Sometimes, we get caught up in our own little world that we don't realize that there are different places, cultures, and realities that we have never experienced. Geography can be tough, be it is all about understanding and memorization. However, more in depth geography can be confusing. An open mind, and free thought is needed. It is a challenge, but well worth the time.
Literature

Literature

Shakespeare, Verne, Lee, Dickens, etc. These are all authors who made a difference with their tales of adventure and tales of mystery. They all had their own style and flare, but reach strong points of life that are still accessible for use today. Shakespeare spoke of love, jealousy, hate, despair, and even used comedic affect. I applaud these authors, and I hope their works will always stand the test of time.
Microsoft PowerPoint

Microsoft PowerPoint

I do the church power point every week, and display it for the music at my church. I am on power point so much, and people are sometimes overwhelmed with these new programs. I just want to help people with them.
Microsoft Word

Microsoft Word

Microsoft word has to be the most valuable tool to a student these days. Every teacher now wants the reports and projects typed neatly, double spaced, with such and such size font etc. I can help anybody that seems overwhelmed with the technology that teachers make their students use.
Nutrition

Nutrition

Nutrition has become increasing prevalent in today's society. People are starting to worry very much about their weight and what is good and bad for your health. Through many years of learning about the food groups, portion distortion, and the struggle to diet, I have come to understand the strengths and weaknesses of nutrition. I understand the struggle that people have with maintaining quality nutrition in a very busy day, but I believe I can direct anybody who wants strong advice and help.
Proofreading

Proofreading

What can make or break your paper? Proofreading. I have read papers that would have been works of art, if they had been proofread before they were turned in. The difference between an A paper and a C paper is an extra two minutes to correct small mistakes. I believe that two minutes is quite worth it.
Reading

Reading

I used to struggle with reading. A lot. My comprehension was very low and I hated to read things I wasn't interested in. I ended up in classes and now my comprehension is 99%. I owe it to great teachers that helped my succeed and read better. Now, I want to share what I have learned with others.
SAT Reading

SAT Reading

I remember the SAT's. I thought they would never end. Although I did well, I should have studied for them. Students need to take these seriously, because they really impact what you can and can't do in your future.
Social Studies

Social Studies

Social Studies and history were my favorite academic subjects in school. I enjoyed them so much, and they can be the most fun subject, if you have an easy way to learn them. People just need to take the time to make it fun. I enjoyed the subject so much that I almost wanted to teach it professionally, but I am not called to teach. I am, however, called to help students that struggle with it. I intend to teach general social studies in a more approachable fashion. If you are learning about a certain country, or an important time period, I break it down into parts tat are more understandable and comprehensible.
Spanish

Spanish

I took Spanish for 7 years in school, and continue to enrich myself in the language when I can. I taught Spanish 1 for a time, and am equipped to help new Spanish students learn vocabulary and basic verb conjugation.
World History

World History

History is the study of the past. However, studying the past makes a huge difference on your future. World History does not discriminate, but reflects on everything that has happened. I think that is how history should be approached. We can all learn from others.
