I am a native Mandarin speaker with 33 years of teaching experience: 23 years as a full-time high school Chinese Language and Literature teacher in China and more than 10 years as an online educator. I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Chinese Language and Literature from Hebei Normal University. I hold a Chinese Teacher Qualification Certificate, the professional title of Senior Secondary School Teacher, and a Putonghua Proficiency Test Level 1-B certificate.

During my 23 years of high school teaching, I taught Chinese language, literature, reading, and writing in formal classroom settings and served in academic leadership roles. My honors include being named one of the “Forty Influential Figures in Chinese Education during Forty Years of Reform and Opening Up” (2018), receiving the Grand Prize in the Chinese Reading Leader Awards (2016), and being nominated as a National Top Ten Figure Promoting Reading (2012). I have published five books on Chinese education, reading, and writing.

For more than 10 years, I have taught children, teenagers, and adults online in both group and one-on-one settings. I independently develop curricula, lesson plans, reading materials, writing assignments, and discussion activities. I currently teach online courses in Biblical studies and comparative Chinese and Western culture.

I specialize in Mandarin, Chinese literature and culture, reading comprehension, writing, vocabulary, and literary analysis. I tailor lessons to each student’s level and goals, using authentic materials such as classical and modern Chinese literature, essays, poetry, cultural texts, images, and videos. Through guided reading, discussion, speaking and writing practice, and individualized feedback, I help students improve their Chinese and develop a deeper understanding of Chinese literature and culture.
