Hi there! I'm Lauriane, a recent medical school graduate and experienced tutor specializing in USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 board preparation. I graduated with Distinction from Duke University, earning a B.S. in Biology with a minor in Chemistry, and later earned my M.D. from Emory University School of Medicine.
My teaching experience began at Duke, where I served as a Calculus Teaching Assistant for three years. At Emory, I continued to support students as a Peer Tutor while also developing the test-taking strategies and fund of knowledge that helped me score in the 95th percentile on my Step 2 board exam.
I know how overwhelming board prep can feel and I believe that the best tutoring starts with understanding each student’s unique strengths, challenges, and goals. My approach is individualized, structured, and encouraging. Whether we're working through difficult physiology concepts, refining clinical reasoning, building a study schedule, or reviewing practice questions, I focus on helping students understand the “why” behind the material so they can reach that “aha” moment instead of rote memorization.
Most importantly, my biggest passion is connecting with students and helping them build confidence in their own abilities. My goal is to be the kind of tutor who makes you feel seen, supported, and capable while helping you develop the tools you need to succeed - not only on exam day, but throughout your medical journey.
