I scored a 519 on the MCAT, placing me in the 97th percentile, and I bring several years of hands-on teaching experience across multiple scientific disciplines to every session. At Pitt, I TAed for both Organic and General Chemistry, working with undergraduates one-on-one through office hours and in-class problem solving. I learned early on that students retain material far better when they reason through problems themselves, so I built my sessions around drawing answers out rather than just giving them — and the results spoke for themselves.
Outside the classroom, I co-founded Steel City Scholars, a student-run tutoring organization that provided free science tutoring to Pittsburgh middle schoolers. Building the curriculum from the ground up and watching students who had completely checked out of science start to genuinely engage with it is still one of the most rewarding things I have done. I also taught ESL at Literacy Pittsburgh, which made me a sharper communicator and taught me how to meet students exactly where they are rather than where I expect them to be.
If you are preparing for the MCAT, I know that exam inside and out — the content, the strategy, and the mental game. I have also tutored organic chemistry, general chemistry, and introductory biology at the college level, and worked with students from middle school through undergrad in both group and one-on-one settings. Whether you are trying to break into the 500s or push past a 515, I can help you get there.
