Hi everyone! My name is Polly, and I’m a student at Carnegie Mellon University studying Physics. I tutor math, physics, computer science, and Chinese, and I really enjoy helping students understand challenging concepts in a clear and simple way.
In high school, I actually founded a tutoring club where we connect students who need help and student tutors together to work and learn. We helped a lot of students ace subjects like math and physics. That experience made me realize how much I enjoy teaching and seeing someone finally solve the problem they've been struggling with for a week.
My teaching style focuses on understanding, not memorizing equations. Whether we’re solving a calculus problem, working through physics concepts, debugging code, or practicing Chinese conversation, I like to break things down step by step so everything makes sense. I believe that only when you actually understand the concept, you can apply them in the real world, and learn how to solve the same type of questions in different forms.
I’m patient and interactive, and I try to make learning engaging and even fun. If you’re looking for someone who can explain things clearly and support you along the way, I’d love to work with you!
