I am a PhD student in Civil Engineering at the University of Pittsburgh, where I also served as a teaching assistant for two years. I earned both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Civil Engineering from Cairo University in Egypt.
My passion for teaching began at home, helping my three younger siblings understand challenging math and science topics. This early experience sparked a lifelong interest in education, which I continued to pursue as a teaching assistant and as a tutor.
Through my teaching assistantship and tutoring experience, I have worked with students from diverse backgrounds and at different academic levels. I particularly enjoy tutoring mathematics, statistics, and civil engineering courses such as hydrology and hydraulics.
What I enjoy most is helping students understand difficult concepts by breaking them down into simple, manageable steps.
Over the past year, I have focused primarily on tutoring college-level statistics and hydrology/hydraulics courses, working one-on-one with more than 25 students. Because every student learns differently, I adapt my teaching style to match each student’s needs and learning pace.
