Hi! My name is Kayley, and I’m a freshman at the University of Pittsburgh, double majoring in Law, Criminal Justice, and Society, as well as Theatre Arts. I’ve always loved learning and sharing knowledge, and I get a lot of satisfaction from helping others understand challenging concepts and build confidence in their skills. I like to make learning fun and interesting while keeping it focused and effective.

I have strong experience with high-level academics, having taken 14 AP classes in high school and completed the exams for each. I also scored a 32 on the ACT, including a perfect score in Reading, which gives me insight into test-taking strategies and critical reading skills. Beyond academics, I have hands-on experience from a law internship with a family lawyer, where I acted as a legal assistant both in and out of the courtroom. In high school, I was the Mock Trial Captain and served as Secretary for FBLA, competing at the state level in Impromptu Speaking. I’m also an avid reader and enjoy finding ways to make topics engaging and relatable.

I specialize in helping students with AP courses, standardized test prep, writing, and social science topics. My approach is adaptable to each student’s learning style, whether through guided practice, discussion, or interactive problem-solving. My goal is not just to help students get the right answers, but to help them understand the reasoning behind concepts so they can confidently apply their knowledge in school and beyond.

Approved Subjects

Criminal Justice

Criminal Justice

I am qualified to tutor in criminal justice based on both academic coursework and hands-on legal experience. I completed a law internship where I worked as a legal assistant, gaining practical exposure to legal research, case preparation, and the functioning of the justice system. As captain of my Mock Trial team, I developed strong analytical, leadership, and courtroom reasoning skills. Additionally, my college coursework, including Intro to Criminal Justice, Criminology, Emerging Issues in the Legal System, Law and Social Change, The System of Criminal Justice, and Race, Class, Gender, and the Law, has given me a well-rounded understanding of criminal justice theory, policy, and social impact.
Theater

Theater

I am qualified to tutor theatre based on extensive performance experience and formal training at both the high school and college levels. I am a Theatre Arts major and have performed in eight productions, including musicals and plays, in a wide range of roles such as ensemble, supporting, featured, small group, and lead performances. My coursework, including Theatrical Production Crew (costuming and scenic shop), Enjoying Performances, New Performance Methods, and Musical Theatre Performance, has given me a strong foundation in both onstage and behind-the-scenes aspects of theatre. Additionally, my ten years of choir experience and training in hip hop and tap dance strengthen my skills in vocal and movement-based performance.
