Hi, I'm Dallas! I am a current college lecturer in Statistics and a practicing Data Analyst with a Master of Science in Statistics and an undergraduate background in the Social Sciences. My dual background allows me to offer the best of both worlds: the academic rigor required to ace your exams and the practical context to understand why the data matters. Whether you are a university student struggling with hypothesis testing or a professional leaping into analytics, I can bridge the gap between abstract theory and real-world application.

My work with small college cohorts defines my teaching experience. I regularly lecture classes of 8 to 12 students remotely, where I've learned how to blend structured instruction with personalized mentorship. My time in the classroom helps me see where students struggle most. It's often not with the math, but with the conceptual frameworks and confidence. My methodology is grounded in "atomizing" these dense concepts. We'll work together on breaking concepts down into their smallest, most intuitive components so you'll feel like you understand each piece. To ensure long-term retention, I help you leverage evidence-based techniques like spaced repetition and interleaving. We leverage these methods to teach you how to distinguish between similar concepts and avoid the trap of short-term cramming.

Beyond the classroom, I am a Healthcare Data Analyst. Working in this capacity has given me the skills to help you improve your Excel, T-SQL, or Python skills, as I use all of them daily. Additionally, I can help you with what many online courses don't discuss: managing and influencing stakeholders based on the analyses you conduct. Whether you need to understand the basics of a pivot table or design a machine learning experiment, I can help you build a toolkit that is both practical and employable.

Data Analysis

My first graduate degree awarded with a 4.0 was in applied statistics by the University of Michigan. Directly after graduation, I have been employed as a data analyst for almost five years. My current tasks include descriptive and diagnostic analytics leveraging Power BI, Python, and T-SQL for services and a catchment of over 600,000 Medicaid members.
