Hi! I’m a certified Biology tutor (with certifications in Essay writing, Executive functioning, and Personal statement essays) with a strong background in scientific research, and I enjoy helping students understand biology while also building the skills they need to succeed independently. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Biomolecular Science from the University of Michigan, where I received University Honors and graduated a semester early. During my time at UMich, I tutored advanced college-level Biology and Organic Chemistry II for three semesters and was selected as a Tutor Team Leader. I’ve worked one-on-one with over 35 students as well as in group, drop-in tutoring settings. I also have extensive research experience at the University of Michigan and the University of Pittsburgh. This background allows me to take a practical approach to STEM subjects, connecting concepts to real laboratory techniques and relevant clinical or pathological applications.
I work with students at the middle school, high school, and college levels, and I’ve especially enjoyed mentoring younger students through volunteer experiences like PeerCorps Detroit and Music Therapy. My tutoring style is patient, structured, and encouraging. I focus on clarity, understanding, and helping students feel more confident and in control of their academic work.
