With over sixteen years of nursing experience, I bring a deep understanding of clinical practice and academic rigor to my role as a nursing tutor and academic coach. My nursing journey began at the Community College of Allegheny County, where I earned my foundational nursing education. I later advanced my career by completing an RN to MSN program with a specialization in Nursing Education at Chamberlain University. In 2023, I became a Certified Nurse Educator through the National League for Nursing, solidifying my commitment to helping nursing students excel academically and professionally.
Since 2021, I have been tutoring and providing academic coaching to nursing students and graduates, focusing on both skill development and confidence-building. I use motivational interviewing strategies to empower learners to reach their academic goals and develop effective learning habits. Through personalized, one-on-one coaching, I help students identify and implement test-taking strategies, strengthen study techniques, and overcome test anxiety. I also work extensively with graduate nurses preparing for the NCLEX, emphasizing proficiency with NGN-style questions and clinical judgment development.
In addition to my tutoring practice, I have been a full-time nursing faculty member since 2022. I currently serve as full-time didactic faculty at UPMC Schools of Nursing and as a Nursing Academic Coach at Carlow University. My teaching experience spans both Diploma and Associate Degree programs, where I have guided students through foundational and advanced nursing concepts. Currently pursuing a PhD in Educational Management and Leadership at Robert Morris University, I continue to refine my leadership, teaching, and research expertise. My approach to education integrates evidence-based instructional methods with compassionate mentorship, fostering academic success, professional confidence, and lifelong learning among future nurses.
