My name is Connor, and I hold a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Mathematics (3.80 GPA) from Florida Atlantic University, where I was a Teaching Assistant from 2021 to 2025. I ran review sessions and one-on-one help for Precalculus through Calculus III. I’ve been tutoring privately since 2020, working with high schoolers and undergraduates at FAU, UF, and Carnegie Mellon University. As someone who scored in the 90th percentile on the Math GRE and has helped many students with test prep and coursework, I know I can be of great help.
I have experience both privately and with FAU tutoring at a tutoring center, one-on-one, and in a classroom, so I have experience teaching with all kinds of students in various settings. I mostly tutor Calculus (all levels), Differential Equations, Linear Algebra, and competition math for students interested in enrichment or advanced problem-solving, though if you're looking for something even more specialized, I can do that too! I’m proud to say that nearly all of my students have seen improvements in both their grades and their confidence.
My tutoring is centered around building deep understanding, rather than just memorizing steps. I break concepts down into manageable pieces and explain them in intuitive, often visual terms. Then, we work through problems together, focusing on reasoning to best prepare for their exams. I make sure to ask questions and encourage students to think out loud, so I can give immediate feedback and guide their thinking in real time.
Every student is different, and I tailor my approach to each individual. Some students need help building foundational skills, while others need to be challenged with harder problems or deeper theory. I meet students where they are and adapt my explanations and pacing accordingly. Many have told me that I helped them finally make sense of topics that they had struggled with for months, which is very motivating for them.
