Hi, I’m Cole!
I am a physician and full-time USMLE tutor who recently matched into Diagnostic Radiology residency after initially training in Internal Medicine. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Clemson University with a degree in Biochemistry and earned my MD from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine-Greenville. After realizing my passion for radiology, I transitioned specialties and successfully matched into my top-choice Diagnostic Radiology program. For the past year, I have worked full-time as a tutor and residency application advisor, helping students achieve success.

I scored a 262 on Step 1 and a 266 on Step 2 CK. I have hundreds of hours of tutoring experience, including time with a professional USMLE tutoring company. My approach is tailored, supportive, and strategic. Whether you are building a study plan, trying to improve test-taking skills, or need help with motivation, I will meet you where you are and help you move forward. I work with a wide range of students and consistently help them reach their goals. One student improved her Step 2 score by over 50 points with three months of focused tutoring. Another passed Step 2 after previously failing twice.

I also offer personalized residency application advising, including editing ERAS and personal statements, preparing for interviews, and overall application strategy. Having gone through two successful match cycles and interviewed at over 40 programs, I know what residency programs are looking for and how to help you stand out.

I am passionate about teaching and committed to your success. I will work hard for you during and between sessions. I offer a free consultation to discuss your goals and develop a plan. If you are looking for a tutor who combines student success, experience, and a personalized, encouraging approach, I would love to hear from you. Let’s talk about how I can help you reach your next milestone.

I am a US MD who initially began residency in Internal Medicine, but switched specialities to Diagnostic Radiology. Having gone through two successful match cycles and interviewed at over 40 programs (matching at my top-choices), I know what residency programs are looking for and how to help you stand out.
Personal Statements

Personal Statements

I am an MD that specializes in helping medical students craft compelling personal statements that resonate with residency programs. I assisted my school's admissions team, have reviewed hundreds of personal statements, and have helped many students hone their personal statements. Because of this experience, I understand what programs are looking for and how to make your story stand out. I’ll work with you to highlight your strengths and create a polished, memorable narrative.

Step 2 game changer - I'd recommend for any med school struggles!

I came to Cole super discouraged after my baseline NBME for Step 2 and was able to increase 57 points working with him. I am a DO student and he helped fill in the gaps for the best Step resources. Just focusing on Step, I was able to surpass my school's COMSAE threshold to sit for COMLEX Level 2 by 100 points after struggling to hit the mark initially. Walking through questions together, creating a daily study plan for dedicated, and using his recommendations for biostats and ethics made a huge difference in my confidence for this exam. He'll work with you based on what methods you like. Even when I'd enter our sessions discouraged, I'd leave feeling more in control of this exam. I highly recommend Cole for help with any med school exams or concepts!

Easy to understand, kind, and encouraging!

I was seeking out a tutor for help in preparing for Step 3 who truly made information easy to understand, was kind and patient, and who I enjoyed working with. I genuinely found this in Cole! He is so knowledgeable and very talented in breaking down questions/info into understandable segments then helping you to put the segments together yourself to understand the question and get it correct! In addition, his style is extremely patient and encouraging, he recognized when I was struggling and really supported me through things I found difficult. He’s not intimidating at all and I felt I could ask him anything (even if it felt dumb). I wish I had found him earlier in my step journey but will certainly continue to use him for this last test of the process.
