Hi there! I’m a pre-med student at the University of Pittsburgh in the Frederick Honors College, majoring in Biological Sciences. I’ve worked as a study lab tutor at my University for General Chemistry for 3 years, and have been a middle school English tutor for several years as well. My background with tutoring various age ranges from 8-20 has given me a holistic understanding of how to best support you through your educational journey.

I’ve taken a range of challenging science courses as a part of the honors college, including biology, general chemistry, biochemistry, and human physiology, earning a spot on the Dean's list each semester. As a straight A student in high school, I am familiar with AP- level coursework, and am happy to build strong study habits and review difficult material. I recently took the MCAT in January 2025, and scored a 519 (97th percentile), so I am happy to develop targeted strategies and a personalized study plan for students in all four sections.

My experience tutoring a wide variety of students has enabled my approach to be flexible, patient, and creative to find ways to customize each session for what works best for you. My goal is to be as efficient and proactive in our approach, to allow you to reach your goals at a pace that feels right for you. Going through the application process, I have been fortunate to receive several interview requests from medical schools, which has helped me refine my answers and learn about what they look for as an admissions committee. I conduct several interviews for medical fraternities, competitive organizations on campus, and work with the pre-health office at the University of Pittsburgh to gather strategies and advice to help others put their best foot forward.

I scored a 519 on the MCAT (96th percentile), with my strongest sections being Bio/Biochem, Psych/Soc, and CARS. As a pre-med student at the University of Pittsburgh in the Frederick Honors College, I have taken the advanced coursework necessary to master the content, and completed upwards of 1000+ practice questions as I studied for and help tutor for the MCAT. My experience being in a medical fraternity has given me access to tips, resource, and study strategies that have proved very effective on the MCAT. I focus on tailoring study strategies to each student’s strengths, whether you need content review, test-taking tactics, or help working through practice questions.

Exceptional Tutor

Abhigya is an incredibly patient, understanding, and supportive tutor. She takes her time to explain every concept thoroughly and clearly, using diagrams, pictures, and real-life analogies to make difficult topics easy to understand. Her teaching style is interactive and visual, which really helps me stay engaged and confident while learning.
