My passion for tutoring is rooted in my own academic journey. I once struggled with math in high school and vividly remember how demoralizing it felt to lack confidence. However, through persistence and a shift in mindset, I excelled by the end of my senior year. This transformation not only gave me a deep appreciation for the power of resilience but also shaped my desire to help students overcome their own challenges. As a transfer student, I further embodied a relentless pursuit of excellence—a core value I strive to cultivate in every student I work with.
I graduated with honors from the University of Southern California (USC) with a degree in Economics and Mathematics, earning a 3.7 GPA and completing an honors thesis. I also took data analytics courses at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) as part of their Master’s of Public Policy & Management program. These experiences strengthened my analytical skills and shaped my unique teaching approach, which emphasizes a top-down understanding of subjects. By focusing on the bigger picture and breaking down concepts step by step, I aim to help students build both competence and confidence.
I have experience tutoring students of various ages and skill levels. At USC, I worked with the Joint Educational Project (JEP), supporting students in strengthening their math and critical thinking skills. I also tutored elementary students in grades 3 to 5, focusing on math and reading. These experiences have taught me the importance of patience, adaptability, and fostering a supportive learning environment. My goal as a tutor is not only to help students succeed academically but to inspire them to embrace challenges and achieve their full potential.
