Hey! My name is Tauseef. I graduated from Duke with a self-designed major focused on addiction and then completed an MPhil in Social Anthropology at Cambridge––both on full-merit scholarships. Hey! My name is Tauseef. I graduated from Duke with a self-designed major focused on addiction and then completed an MPhil in Social Anthropology at Cambridge––both on full-merit scholarships. After two years of TA’ing for an undergrad writing class and tutoring computer science courses, I’m glad to continue mentoring students here.

A year-ish ago, I scored in the 100th percentile on the MCAT with a 525 (CP:130, CARS:131, BB:132, PS:132) after 3-4 months of self-studying while juggling a part-time job. Prepping for the exam was tough, and I made tons of mistakes along the way. Now on the other side, I want to guide students and make sure they are positioned to do well.

My goal is equipping you with personalized approaches that help you leverage your strengths and cover your weaknesses. By going over MCAT-style passages in slow-motion, I want to help you not only identify knowledge gaps and master content but also apply what you’ve learned to AAMC-style questions.

While I tutor all MCAT sections, I enjoy helping with CARS the most. For my undergrad thesis in literature, I examined demonic possession narratives. For my master’s dissertation in social anthropology, I worked on an ethnography of grassroots care initiatives. I enjoy using my humanities background to help students dissect passages thoughtfully, interpret dense or abstract ideas, and keep track of arguments. Although improving in CARS can feel daunting, I firmly believe making significant progress in this section is possible, no matter the starting point. I’m here to help you make this section click for you.

I also provide guidance on using tools like ANKI decks, equation sheets, and content outlines, as well as maximizing the value of third-party resources. I also help create personalized study plans tailored to individual circumstances, like time commitments or financial considerations.

Tauseef is the best!

Tauseef is an AMAZING tutor. I sought a tutor to help me with passage reading strategy in my last week of studying, primarily for b/b. Tauseef ended up helping me address some lingering weaknesses in all of the MCAT sections. He truly puts in the work to solidify your understanding. He takes time outside of sessions to think about your questions and prepare materials that will be helpful for you. For instance, I told him I was struggling with graphs, and he made several graphs that I could encounter on my test and explained them to me in detail. I had previously tried to do this myself, and it was not nearly as helpful as working with Tauseef. I highly recommend meeting with Tauseef to help maximize your study time - it's worth it!
