Hello, I'm Nafis, a dedicated Physics and Math tutor with a diverse academic background and extensive teaching experience. I earned Bachelor's degrees abroad in Electrical & Electronic Engineering and Physics, and received my MS and PhD from the University of Pittsburgh in 2018. My doctoral specialization in Physics Education Research provides me with unique insights into how students learn and the common challenges they face. This expertise allows me to quickly identify areas where students struggle and develop effective strategies to help them overcome these difficulties.

Before entering Pitt, I taught college-level Engineering courses abroad for three years in face-to-face classroom settings. During my doctoral studies, I taught both algebra- and calculus-based Physics courses as a Teaching Assistant and an independent Teaching Fellow for about two years, gaining valuable experience in guiding students through challenging Physics concepts. After graduating, I taught Math and Engineering courses at Duquesne University for a year.

My passion for teaching Physics and Math extends to one-on-one online tutoring, where I have been supporting students of all academic levels, from K-12 to college, for about a year. I focus on creating a personalized learning experience that builds strong foundations in key concepts while fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills. My commitment to creating a supportive and effective learning environment remains constant, regardless of the setting or level of instruction.
