I am a Pennsylvania-certified teacher and experienced tutor with more than 20 years of experience working with students from early elementary through adult learners. I currently teach 5th grade at Saint Patrick Catholic School in Malvern, PA. My teaching experience also includes 8th grade Language Arts, middle school substitute teaching for grades 4–8, and one-on-one tutoring since 2006.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Elementary Education from Wilkes University, a Pennsylvania Instructional I Certificate in Elementary Education (K–6), and a Pennsylvania Instructional II Certificate in English Language Arts.
As a tutor, I provide individualized instruction in reading, writing, English Language Arts, math, homework support, study skills, organization, and test preparation. I assess each student's strengths and areas for growth and create lessons based on their learning style, academic goals, and skill level. My approach includes modeling, guided practice, repetition, multisensory strategies, hands-on activities, and positive reinforcement.
I have extensive experience working with students with different learning abilities and understand the importance of patience, encouragement, and adapting instruction to meet individual needs. My goal is not simply to help students complete an assignment, but to strengthen foundational skills, build confidence, develop independence, and help students become successful lifelong learners.
In addition to classroom teaching and private tutoring, I have volunteered as a Special Education Instructional Aide and have experience providing educational support in community programs. These experiences have strengthened my ability to connect with students, recognize their individual needs, and create a supportive learning environment.
I am passionate about helping students discover their strengths and reach their full academic potential.
