Hello all, I am currently a graduate student at the University of Pennsylvania majoring in Data Science. For tutoring, I specialize in all kinds of math, statistics, and data science courses and also aid in college application essay coaching. I have been accepted to multiple top schools across the US (e.g., Brown, Cornell, and UPenn, Columbia, JHU, Duke, Vanderbilt).

During my free time, I love teaching students. I have four years of experience under my belt as a college math tutor which include six semesters worth of math tutoring at the Math Success Program at UMD and one semester as the Head of Math Tutoring at UMD. I have also assisted as a teaching assistant for various college level statistics courses. Working at the hardest level, collegiate, I can tutor students of various levels of difficulty. Tutoring is especially fun for me since I am given the opportunity to help students develop methods and strategies in order to have them succeed in a subject that can be challenging for many.

I see this all the time, the issue with math and students is their ability to understand and soak up the information. I provide students with the easiest way of understanding any concept by demonstrating it in Layman's terms and also providing step by step visual examples in order for them to understand. If students do not quite understand the material, I will go through the step by step process and answer any questions that students will have until they fully feel comfortable with the material that they wish to learn. I request that students provide the material ahead of time to provide more efficient lessons and all lessons will be recorded for accessibility.

No time wasted! 10/10

Everyone has different needs from tutoring and for me, well, I'm a full time college student, mother of 2, full time and part time employed, and I'm the kid who would just write "I CAN'T DO THIS" on my math exams in school out of total frustration. I'm a straight A student 4.0 in literally everything else. After 10 years I'm stuck in math classes again but with Norman's help I'm not only getting through it, I'm actually learning something. He has also gone above and beyond with communication and scheduling. Highly recommend.

Brilliant and Patient!

Norman was beyond knowledgeable about every topic in my Stats course. He broke it down as if I were a five-year-old without embarrassment. By the end of our session I felt as though I could teach the sections myself.
