I help students develop an understanding of the fundamental logic and language of digital art production in a way that feels comfortable and intuitive. I have worked as a tutor, teacher's assistant, student mentor, and studio supervisor for college level digital art classes for 4+ years, all while developing my own career as a digital fabricator and designer. I've taught students at all skill levels, working on projects ranging from simple logo design to complex 3D modeling, animation and rendering. Design software can be complicated and intimidating! This is why I don't only aim to teach my students important foundational skills, but also to give my students the confidence and the tools they will need to tackle new problems and projects on their own.

I recently graduated from Wesleyan University with a double major in Psychology and Studio Art with a specialization in Digital Art Production, as well as a certificate in Integrated Design, Engineering and Applied Sciences. I spent a number of years as the supervisor for the campus Digital Design Studio working with students to accomplish their own personal design goals, while also working as a tutor and teachers assistant for a number of digital art classes focusing more closely on skill building and project based learning. I especially enjoy teaching students with little to no art background because they are most often the students who invent new ways to synthesize concepts of digital art making with their own passions and careers.

I believe in the importance of visual design for its own sake, but also for its potential as a universal tool for connection and communication. Learning to use programs like Photoshop and Illustrator effectively can be the key to success in many fields seemingly unrelated to art, and I believe these skills should be accessible to everyone!
