I am a freelance art writer and trend researcher starting a Master of Arts program in Media Studies & Production at Temple University next fall. I graduated from Rutgers University in 2009 with a degree in English and a minor in Cinema Studies. I spent almost a decade in New York City honing my craft as a writer, and with no prior art historical education, teaching myself about the art world and how to write about it. This eventually expanded to writing about technology, internet culture and the media more generally.
I also worked as a trend researcher for a trend forecasting agency which entailed identifying emergent ideas across disparate cultural domains and subsequently synthesizing them into reports to be presented to my office. Both of these jobs helped craft my ability to respond to visual media, describe it in an approachable way and to understand how to observe, research and discover ideas within a culture over-saturated with information.
I love helping people learn how to approach the world critically. To understand how to craft a perfect sentence and to understand the best way to express an idea. It is incredibly rewarding to bestow this kind of knowledge upon someone and to know I've guided them in their development as a writer and a thinker.
I have years of experience editing and being edited. I have been published in several high profile publications and my research work has been used to inform marketing campaigns for major brands.
