Hi, I'm Jared. I've been a full-time software engineer for more than 12 years now. Most recently, I co-founded an enterprise SaaS startup called Aeqium. I discovered my enthusiasm for coding as an undergraduate at MIT. Though I had taken several CS classes, it wasn't until I tried applying these skills to help me with my research project in a neuroimaging lab that I finally became "hooked." I never anticipated how much I'd end up enjoying software engineering, let alone making a career out of it.
I've been working full-time as a software engineer for over 12 years now. I've worked at large companies like Braze and Jet.com. I later worked as a founding engineer at an fintech company building trading infrastructure for institutional clients. Most recently, as I mentioned above, I co-founded a SaaS startup called Aeqium that builds software to help large organizations like Amazon and PwC manage complex compensation-related workflows. My technical work has always involved a bit everything: backend, frontend, systems design, infrastructure, CI/CD, ops/telemetry… the list goes on.
Something I’ve come to learn from my experiences onboarding new hires, mentoring junior employees, and generally making myself available as a resource to others is that I love helping people grow. Leveraging my own skills to provide value to others has reliably proven to be a deeply satisfying experience. I take a lot of pride in the recognition I’ve received over the years for an ability to effectively (and patiently!) communicate complex ideas. There was a time in the not-too-distant past when I wasn't familiar with any of the concepts I feel comfortable teaching now - my memory of what it felt like when those concepts just didn't "click" has proven instrumental in helping others navigate their way to the other side.
I hope some of this information about me is helpful. If you feel like I might be the right person to assist with whatever you're trying to learn, prepare for, or accomplish, don't hesitate to reach out.
