Brian tutored my daughter (college-level honors biology) during the pandemic and remote learning. A few things stood out right from the outset: - He has deep subject matter knowledge and more importantly, he knows how to teach. For high-level concepts, he provides multiple different explanations and ensures you understand them. For specific questions, rather than providing an answer he guides you on how to think about them. He asks guiding questions, starting with basic questions, then increasingly more advanced ones, providing a roadmap of how to approach the question and reach the answer yourself (or fill in the gaps). Outstanding. - He is patient and attentive not only to the big picture but also to the smallest details. He was instrumental in helping outline a (quasi-)scientific paper and in a few rounds of editing and re-editing. - He is very responsive to messages and flexible with the schedule, even with last-minute requests to schedule or reschedule sessions -- which is tremendously helpful when your schedule is not always under control or can be planned well in advance. Needless to say, both my daughter and I were very pleased with the outcome. Thank you, Brian, for what you do and how you do it!
