I’m a linguist and Spanish teacher with over 10 years of experience teaching Spanish to students of all ages, from K-12 classrooms (including Newton Public Schools) to adults learning for work, travel, or fun. I studied Linguistics and Hispanic Studies at McGill University in Montreal and spent a semester at la Universidad de Salamanca in Spain. I’ve also lived in La Plata, Argentina and Lima, Peru, where I taught Spanish and French.
I learned Spanish from the ground up and became fluent through immersion, so I know firsthand what’s hard about it and how to explain it clearly. Ser vs. estar, por vs. para, the subjunctive, preterite vs. imperfect: I break these down simply, with lots of real examples and practice.
As a linguist, I’ve also worked on AI assistants at Apple, coaching voice talent on pronunciation and delivery. That background helps me give precise, practical feedback on listening and speaking, the skills most courses overlook.
I tailor every lesson to your goals:
- Conversational Spanish for all levels
- Grammar and writing
- K-12, AP and exam prep (DELE, SIELE)
- Medical Spanish for nurses, doctors and healthcare students
- Business Spanish
I’m a strong believer that everyone is capable of learning another language. The ability is built into our brains; it’s a matter of finding the style that works for you.
Send me a message to talk about your goals and schedule a lesson. I teach online and in person in Philadelphia.
(Note: I have a 24-hour cancellation policy.)
