Hi! My name is Anusha, and I am currently a second-year, nontraditional medical student based out of Philadelphia. A little bit about me - I was born and raised in Chicago, and I graduated from Northwestern University in 2021 with a double major in Classics (concentrating in Latin and Greek) and Biological Sciences. After college, I worked at the National Institutes of Health for several years in rare disease research before pursuing my Masters in Bioethics at the University of Pennsylvania just prior to medical school.

My path to medical school was a little less than conventional as a humanities-centered student who took multiple gap years and two application cycles, but I believe my unique experiences and challenges equipped me with greater insight into what makes for a strong applicant and how to craft a compelling narrative for college or graduate school applications. With more than 8 years of experience as a tutor and over 5 years specifically focused on editing college applications, I am excited to share my knowledge and advice with other students who are in the position I was in just a few years ago. With the skillset I have developed over the years, I am comfortable teaching others what I have learned and would love to help high-achieving students reach their goals as well.

Previously, I tutored students in Latin, Algebra, Geometry, and ACT/SAT Prep, so my approach to tutoring and essay-editing is based on the individual needs of the student. I always begin my sessions by getting to know my students better so I can tailor my essay brainstorming and application editing more intentionally to really showcase each student’s strengths and help them put their best foot forward.
