I've tutored before as a proofreader for all kinds of papers, from research to argument, and believe the best method of helping students with their papers is to provide an understanding of how their language is working rather than simply correcting their grammar. It is my goal to have students really gain control of their writing so that they know how to express their ideas in the best way possible, not just in the way that is technically correct.
My approach to tutoring history is equally rooted in understanding the big picture as opposed to memorizing smaller facts, because once you know the broader ideas, the facts make sense and are easier to remember. I also like to be as engaging as possible with the subject and try to make it fun, because so much of history really can be entertaining to study!
I have a 4.0 GPA as an archaeology student at TEMPLE (will graduate in December) and have been on several excavations.
I have experience in tutoring paper writing and have written numerous research papers myself in pursuit of my degree.
Archaeology and classical history go hand in hand. Both inside and outside the classroom, I've always studied ancient history.
I am easy to get in touch with and excited to get started! Don't hesitate if you have any questions.
