My name is Deblyn and I am a recent graduate of Duquesne University. Throughout my college career I worked with children through tutoring and student teaching. As a junior I tutored Guatemalan children in English, History, Science and Math during a 6 month period. As a senior I interned as a student teacher for a pre-school in the Pittsburgh area. There I enthusiastically engaged with the children three days a week. Some of my duties involved administering weekly competency tests to ensure the pre-schoolers were achieving all check points, assisting children during snack and play time, leading activities, etc. After completion of my degree I participated in a volunteer program in Spain where I taught Spanish children the English language.
I have thoroughly enjoyed all of my experiences with tutoring/teaching/volunteering students and I look forward to continuing offering this service to those who will benefit. Tutoring has proven to be extremely rewarding. I love seeing the progress among my students after mutual hard work and dedication.
I graduated from Duquesne Univeristy with a minor in Spanish and a major in Psychology. My education has provided me with an impeccable knowledge of the Spanish language at both the conversational and text book level. Through my university, I worked with a group called "Casa San Jose" where I tutored Spanish ESL students. My fluency enhanced their experience and helped to allow the students to fully understand the topics at hand. After graduating college I took part in a three month teach abroad/volunteering program in Spain. There I lived with a host family in a Spanish monolingual household. This gave me the invaluable opportunity to perfect my Spanish and to communicate solely in the Spanish language. My primary role was teaching children from the ages of 5-13 the English language. The children benefited from my volunteering and their English speaking abilities greatly improved over the time I was with them.
If you're in need of a Spanish tutor, look no further! I
