As a Johns Hopkins graduate with over a decade of experience, my focus is on helping students master the SAT and achieve their college admission goals. I specialize in comprehensive SAT test prep, including SAT Reading and Writing and SAT Math on the Digital SAT. My approach is not just about memorizing facts; it's about demystifying the test. We'll work together to build fundamental skills in both SAT Math and SAT Reading and Writing, focusing on the specific question types and logical reasoning the exam requires. Each student receives a customized study plan based on an initial diagnostic to identify their unique strengths and areas for improvement. My academic and personal testing success provides the foundation for my tutoring. I hold a Master's degree from Johns Hopkins University and a B.A. from Colgate University. Having scored in the top 10% on the SAT and ACT myself, and in the top 5% on the GRE, I have a deep, firsthand understanding of the discipline and strategy required to excel on standardized tests. This is further supported by perfect 5s on my AP exams in Biology, Psychology, Calculus AB, and US History. Throughout my career, I've worked with high school students in both one-on-one and small-group settings, helping achieve any and all test prep goals.

What a fit! Thrilled with Matthew

My 17-yr. old child could not be happier with his SAT tutor, Matthew. Before their first session Matthew took time to ask great questions about academic strengths and weaknesses, learning style preferences, work habits and even future educational goals. He brought a sense of calm and confidence, and my son felt very at ease with him. He was flexible in accommodating our request for in-person sessions, but I am certain the same vibe could be achieved online. My son left the session excited to tackle future assignments, which exceeded our family expectations for SAT prep. My son feels Matthew is genuinely invested in his success. Highly Effective and Supportive Chemistry Tutoring

We had a great experience with this chemistry tutor. He explained everything clearly to my daughter, from basic concepts to more detailed topics, in a way that was easy for her to understand. He always started by asking her to explain the concept herself, which helped her realize how much she actually knew and clearly identify the areas she needed to work on. This approach made her learning much more efficient. Thanks to his help, she was able to get a great score on her chemistry exam at school.
