Hello, I'm Sean!
I have worked for over ten years as a math, science, and writing tutor an an elite tutoring company serving students in the northeastern United States as well as abroad. In that time, I have worked with over a hundred students on a diverse array of subjects, including academic math (through AP/College Statistics and AP Calculus AB), standardized test prep, and essay writing for coursework or college admissions. In that time, I have learned the strategies that are most effective at supporting students with a wide array of learning preferences. Whether you are a visual learner who prefers to write down every detail, someone who prefers to observe me and then try it yourself, or anything in-between, I am confident that I will be able to help you navigate your academic journey from any point along the process.

I also have a doctorate (Ph.D.) in Clinical Psychology, and work as a psychotherapist in addition to my tutoring work. Much of my training in this field also saturates my tutoring work, as I believe that the connection I make with my students is just as--if not more--important than the academic work itself. I will not only help you to learn the material, but also to build confidence, crush anxiety, and take pride in how far you have come from your starting point.

When working with younger students, I also regularly collaborate and communicate with parents to ensure that they are aware of our progress along every step of the way, and welcome suggestions, comments, and feedback as a way to strengthen our tutoring work together.
