I'm Meghan! I'm currently an ESOL teacher for the School District of Philadelphia. I received my Bachelor's degree from Temple University in Early Childhood Education and a certificate in TESOL and my Master's degree from Arcadia University in Literacy Studies in order to become a certified Reading Specialist.
Education has always been my passion, and I've been teaching full time for the past six years where I've gained a lot of experience working with students of all ages. Throughout my six years of experience, I've worked with teenage and adult international students that were looking to improve their English for work or to apply for university. I also worked in a non-profit for adult immigrants with varying levels of literacy abilities. Additionally, I taught pre-school in an English immersion school and have worked with students of all ages in the Philadelphia public school system.
In my graduate work, I have gained a level of expertise in working with students that are struggling in reading and writing. Arcadia University is also endorsed by the International Dyslexia Association; therefore, I feel prepared to work with students even with severe reading and writing disabilities. The work that I was required to complete during my graduate study involved assessing real students, analyzing the areas in which they are struggling and developing a small group or individualized lessons that address these needs. I feel prepared to jump with any student no matter how much difficulty your child is having.
I'm a young and passionate teacher that truly enjoys seeing each student succeed. Whether it's online or in person, I give each student the individual attention they need in order to improve.
