For the past seven years I have worked as a karate instructor. Here, I had the opportunity to work with people of all ages and educational background. Principle responsibilities included group and private instruction of students, some of whom had various mental and physical disabilities. I also have experience tutoring students through Universal Tutorial Services at Bloomsburg University in an intro to Psychology course. Additionally, I completed an internship at the Bloomsburg Middle School under the supervision of the school guidance counselor. In this setting, I was largely responsible for tutoring struggling students in math and reading. Many students in this setting had various forms of mental disabilities as well as learning disabilities.
As a graduate of Bloomsburg University with a major in psychology, I believe I am experienced and knowledgeable enough to provide supplemental educational services to children who require them. Aside from my educational background, I have a plethora of relevant work experience working with students of various ability levels. Additionally, I legitimately care about the students I tutor. I make it my personal goal to see them succeed and to enjoy working on subjects that may be stressful or less fun than others.
