I hold a Master’s degree in TESOL from Hunter College and a TESOL Certificate from the New School University. I have taught English at the University of Lower Silesia in Wroclaw, Poland; at The International Center (NY); Brooklyn Public Library; the College of Staten Island's English Language Institute (ELI) "Cultural Bridge" program; the Latin American Association; the New York English Academy; and the Bronx Day Laborers Program.
My journey as an English instructor began as a challenge to serve the needs of the immigrant community of English learners in my own backyard to help them improve their quality of life and achieve their personal and professional goals. This ten-year journey has led to many rewarding and fulfilling experiences--from teaching English in the immigrant communities of New York City to teaching at the university level through an intensive English program in Poland.
My mission as a teacher is to continue to learn, develop, and challenge myself so that I know that I am doing my best to meet the needs of my students and I take the goals of my students seriously. My reputation as a successful teacher and coach comes from a supportive, patient, and encouraging teaching style, while empowering students to grow in confidence and achieve success in their language goals. There is no shame in taking risks or making mistakes and we all experience the same setbacks, frustrations, and joys during the learning process, which makes it even more important to provide a positive and productive learning environment.
Specializing in grammar, reading, vocabulary building, pronunciation, and conversation, I tailor instruction to meet individual student needs and help learners build strong foundations in English and achieve their life goals!
