Hello Students and Parents!
I am a PhD student in Art History, and am currently holding a distinguished fellowship in Philadelphia. While my main area is Art History, my skills as a scholar, student, author, and linguist are transferable across multiple disciplines. I can confidently tutor any historical subject - American, European, World, Art - and am also highly proficient in French and Italian. As an author and advanced student, I have a firm command of all study skills, including organization, critical reading, note-taking strategies, and writing mechanics. I would be thrilled to tutor you or your child in any of these subjects!
I thoroughly enjoy tutoring and teaching, and have been doing so for nearly a decade. As a high school student on a military base overseas, I tutored enlisted members of the military who were working to obtain their college degrees. During college, I tutored elementary school students in myriad subjects. As a graduate student, I taught my own undergraduate college classes. Most recently, I worked as a private tutor for the prestigious Lexicon Academics in New York.
I have tutored a wide variety of students, not only terms of age level, but also subject matter, learning style, and educational background. Thus, I am very good at figuring out how best to explain content to each individual student, based on their own educational background and learning style. My students' success is as important to me as my own, and I work very hard to make the learning process enjoyable and rewarding for everyone I teach.
Thank you for reading my profile! Please know that I will be happy to provide you with a reference from a current student. I sincerely hope to hear from you soon. Hello Students and Parents!

While I typically charge $55 per hour, I am also happy to discuss lower rates for multiple lessons or other special circumstances.
Nora's knowledge and experience in the field of art history have been an instrumental tool in guiding me through the writing process specific to my needs. Nora is organized, observant, and direct with her feedback. She is very communicative and responsive to my questions. She has been accessible by email and flexible to meet in person. Nora has provided excellent tutoring overall at this point.
My most recent meeting with Nora provided me with a more in depth understanding of the specific style needed for my writing assignment. Working with Nora enabled me to reconnect with the creative writing process and break away from the academic style that I had been utilizing. Nora made suggestions and gave examples to create a more concise essay.
Our experience with Nora has been wonderful! She is very accommodating as far as time and place, connected extremely well with our son, and made his sessions so enjoyable that HE requested more and longer lessons. If you need any proof as to whether Nora's tutoring helped, I will be glad to show you my son's tests scores!
Nora was the best possible tutor. She was organized, pleasant, engaging, encouraging, and made complex ideas easy to understand. Choose Nora and you will be happy you did!!!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
While I have more recently taught college students and adults, I have extensive experience tutoring students of all ages, including those of elementary school age. I would be happy to use my significant pedagogical skills to help your child improve his or her performance in any subject at the K-6 level.
I am a highly-proficient, near-fluent speaker of the Italian language. I began studying it in college approximately six years ago. After graduating, I completed a language immersion program in Grado, a small island in the north of Italy. No English is spoken in Grado, so the program proved quite effective! I frequently use the language in my profession as an Italian Renaissance art historian, and recently spent four weeks living in Florence, Italy while conducting research for a forthcoming book chapter. I love the language, and would be thrilled to share my knowledge with students!
