My name is Michelle. I hold a BS in Special Education and an M.ED in Reading Specialist from Holy Family University. I also hold a certificate in Elementary Education K-6. I continued my special education studies with 18 credits at the masters level. I currently hold a Masters plus 60 credits status at my school district. I have training in Read Naturally as well as the Wilson Program K-2.I have also been trained in Study Skills as well as Test Prep.

I have worked at the elementary, middle and high school levels. I love children and teaching. I am known as a motivator who gets results. I am ethical and dedicated. I enjoy working with students 1 on 1 or in small groups.I have helped many students increase SAT verbal test scores by 50 to 100 points.

Special Needs

My undergraduate degree is in Special Education. My certificate is K to 12. I taught in a resource room setting for ten years. I am currently an IST teacher which is a go between special education and general education. I work with both the Learning disabled population and Emotionally disturbed population. I have 30 plus credits at the masters level in special education from Holy Family University. I was asked to teach a graduate level Intro to Special Ed at Cabrinin College but declined due to family obligations.I also taught for a correctional facility for three consecutive summers. I have experience working with students that had an IEP as well as mental illness.
Study Skills

Study Skills

I have had training in several study skills programs such ADAPT, SQ3R, Cornell note taking and memory techniques. I have tutored in these areas for both my school district and privately. I have worked extensively with students having IEPs . I use these skilss in my own classroom and offer one on one help for my students.
