Bio

My main goal is to make a session engaging and informative. Almost any subject can be enjoyable! I have various teaching and tutoring experience such as one-on-one private tutoring, teaching at an artist's studio, working as a field guide, and other education experience. I have various teaching and tutoring experience such as one-on-one private tutoring, teaching at an artist's studio, working as a field guide, and other education experience. I have been an honors student from elementary through high school and college. I remember what its like to be in school.

Since getting my bachelor's degree I have been teaching painting classes in several spots in the area, including the Thompson Park Center. I currently teach painting and drawing classes several times a week so I have a flexible schedule. I have a masters degree from Indiana University and have taught college level students in a university setting for the past year. I have a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, have studied abroad in Italy at the International School of Painting, Drawing and Sculpture, and have also taken classes at the New York Studio School as well as participating in the famed Drawing Marathon. Aside from teaching and tutoring I also exhibit my paintings on a regular basis throughout the area, for example at the Monmouth Museum and at several annual larger shows.

I have been successful in helping students with a wide variety of needs. From writing papers to ESL and grammar, to history, to computer basics. I work with students of all ages and levels.

There is no doubt in my mind that with my help your grades will rise and so will your confidence. After my sessions students get A's.

My subjects include English - language arts, reading, literature, grammar, writing skills and essay writing, spelling, general humanities - world history, art history, social sciences/studies, Russian, homework help. I also offer drawing and painting lessons in any media.

First lesson - A home run!

I was amazed at how much Ekaterina helped me in my very first lesson. She is very professional and articulate. I first explained to her what I wanted to learn and she knew exactly how to teach me. It was a great one-on-one session. While I was on the computer and following her prompts she made notes that I could use on my own. Besides knowing her subject she is a very engaging person. I was very nervous and apprehensive about the first lesson but she immediately put me at ease. Ekaterina has excellent tutoring skills and I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a great tutor at any level.
