I love helping students tackle the concepts that make organic chemistry challenging. Whether you're struggling with reaction mechanisms, trying to understand stereochemistry, or preparing for an upcoming exam, my goal is to help you move beyond memorization and develop a genuine understanding of the material.

I earned my PhD in Organic Chemistry from the University of Pittsburgh, where I gained extensive teaching experience. I tutored students individually for several years, held office hours as a Teaching Assistant, and, during my final year, designed and taught my own organic chemistry lecture course to 110 students. I developed my own lectures, quizzes, exams, and problem sets. Earlier, as an undergraduate at Mercer University, I spent two years as a Supplemental Instruction leader.

My teaching approach centers on learning by doing. I develop practice problems that approach concepts from different angles, helping you recognize patterns, understand why reactions work, and confidently apply what you've learned to unfamiliar problems. Rather than simply memorizing reactions or following an answer key, we'll work through problems together until the underlying concepts click. As your understanding grows, organic chemistry becomes much more manageable.

I've received excellent feedback from my students and tutoring clients, and I find it genuinely rewarding to help students gain confidence in a subject that can initially feel overwhelming.
