Hi! I’m Hailey, a freshman at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School studying finance and AI in business. I graduated from Chantilly High School with an AP Capstone Diploma and AP Scholar with Distinction honors. Math is my strongest subject, and I love showing students that it can actually make sense.
I have been tutoring for over four years in classroom, one-on-one, and volunteer settings. Since 2022, I have tutored algebra, geometry, and calculus through my high school’s Math Honor Society, in weekly one-on-one and small group sessions with students ages 14 to 18 preparing for homework, exams, and standardized tests. I also tutored writing one-on-one at my school’s Creative Writing Center, and I spent three years as a teacher’s assistant at an elementary school, helping young students with reading, writing, and math. Since 2023, I have also run my own piano studio for students ages 5 to 12, which taught me how to explain ideas to younger kids with patience and creativity.
My approach is completely student-centered. Every student learns differently, so if an explanation doesn’t click, I don’t just repeat it. I try a new angle, whether that’s a visual, a real-life example, or breaking the problem into smaller steps, and I keep adjusting until I find the one that resonates. I want students to understand the why behind each method, not just memorize it, so they feel confident working on their own. I’d love to help you or your child build that confidence.
