I'm currently an undergraduate at the University of Pennsylvania, where I'm studying biology and neuroscience on the pre-med track. I bring both strong academic credentials and firsthand experience with the college admissions process to my work with students: I was admitted to Johns Hopkins, all seven University of California campuses, Amherst College, Georgia Tech, the University of Michigan, UT Austin, and USC, and I completed over 15 AP exams during high school. That range of acceptances came from building a genuinely strong academic and extracurricular profile, not just high test scores, and it's exactly that full picture I want to help students build.

My goal is to be a resource students and families can come to for any part of their academic journey, not just one exam. That includes SAT and ACT prep, but also help with AP coursework, general high school subjects, study skills and time management, and guidance through the college application process itself, from building a balanced school list to strengthening essays and extracurricular narratives. I've tutored students one-on-one, starting with a diagnostic to understand where each student is starting from, then building a personalized plan around their specific goals rather than a generic curriculum.

I'm bilingual in English and Mandarin, which lets me work closely with both English-speaking and Mandarin-speaking families, and I communicate consistently with parents through written recaps after each session so everyone stays aligned on progress. I care about my students' outcomes the way I cared about my own application process, and I want to help them navigate high school with both strong results and less stress along the way.

Approved Subjects

Biology

Biology

I'm a pre-med student at the University of Pennsylvania with a strong academic foundation in biology, built through rigorous coursework and years of AP-level science study, including scoring well on 15+ AP exams in high school. My pre-med curriculum requires an advanced, detailed understanding of biology, from molecular and cellular processes to genetics and physiology, which I bring directly into how I explain concepts to students. I focus on breaking down complex topics like cell division, genetics, and evolution into clear, intuitive explanations rather than just memorization, so students actually understand the material instead of just recalling it for a test. I tailor my approach to each student's specific course level and learning style, whether they're working through general biology, AP Biology, or a specific unit they're struggling with.
Chemistry

Chemistry

I'm a pre-med student at the University of Pennsylvania with a strong foundation in chemistry, built through rigorous AP-level coursework and continued through college-level general chemistry. Beyond the classroom, I have hands-on wet-lab research experience, including techniques like ELISA and protein purification, which gives me a practical, applied understanding of chemistry concepts that goes beyond textbook memorization. I focus on helping students build real conceptual understanding, whether it's stoichiometry, balancing equations, molarity and solutions, or more advanced topics, rather than just teaching formulas to memorize. I adapt my approach to each student's specific course level, from general chemistry fundamentals to more advanced high school and early college material.
College Counseling

College Counseling

I help students navigate the college admissions process with a personalized, strategic approach, drawing from my own successful application experience. I was accepted to both the University of Pennsylvania and Johns Hopkins University, as well as all UCs, Georgia Tech, UT Austin, Amherst College, and other highly selective universities. I can help students develop a balanced college list, identify and highlight their strongest experiences, plan application timelines, and approach personal statements and supplemental essays strategically. My goal is to help each student present an authentic, compelling application while staying organized and confident throughout the admissions process.
English

English

I have experience tutoring students in literature and English, with a strong focus on reading comprehension, literary analysis, essay writing, and developing clear arguments. As a Russian Literature minor, I have extensive experience closely analyzing complex texts, themes, characters, symbolism, and historical context. I am patient and adaptable in my teaching style, and I work with students to build both their confidence and their ability to independently approach challenging literature. I can help students prepare for AP Literature assignments, essays, exams, and class discussions.
Prealgebra

Prealgebra

I'm a pre-med student at the University of Pennsylvania, and my coursework requires a strong, applied command of the math that underlies precalculus, including functions, trigonometry, and advanced algebra. I built these foundations through AP-level math in high school, including scoring a 5 on the AP Precalculus and AP Calculus BC exams, and I've continued applying them throughout my college coursework. I focus on making sure students understand the "why" behind each concept, whether it's how transformations affect a function's graph or how unit circle trigonometry actually works, rather than just memorizing formulas. I adapt my teaching to each student's course and pace, whether they're building basic fluency or preparing for a transition into calculus.
PSAT

PSAT

I'm a pre-med student at the University of Pennsylvania with a strong, proven background in standardized testing, and I bring that same skill set directly to PSAT preparation. Since the PSAT shares its core content and format with the SAT, I apply the same diagnostic-driven approach: identifying a student's specific strengths and gaps across reading, writing, and math, then building a targeted study plan around them. I pay particular attention to the strategic side of the PSAT that many students overlook, including pacing and how National Merit Scholarship qualification works, since a strong PSAT score can have a real impact beyond just practice for the SAT. My goal is to help students walk into the PSAT confident and well-prepared, whether they're using it purely as SAT practice or aiming for National Merit recognition.
