I’m a Senior Security Engineer with 7+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience, and I enjoy helping people make technical topics feel practical and approachable.
I have a Bachelor of Science in IT Security from Western Governors University and certifications including AWS Solutions Architect, Security+, Network+, Linux+, A+, Project+, CCNA, and CCNA Security. My professional experience includes vulnerability management, incident response, cloud security, networking, SIEM, endpoint security, and threat investigation. I’ve worked with technologies such as CrowdStrike, Splunk, Tenable, Rapid7, AWS, Okta, Carbon Black, and Wiz.
Most of my teaching experience has been with adult learners and working professionals. Throughout my career, I’ve provided one-on-one technical mentorship, led security awareness training, created educational sessions, and helped colleagues understand complex security and networking concepts. I’ve also regularly explained technical issues to audiences ranging from engineers to business leaders.
My tutoring style is patient, conversational, and focused on understanding rather than memorization. I like connecting certification material to situations you would actually encounter in a cybersecurity job. If a concept doesn’t make sense the first time, I’m happy to explain it differently until it clicks.
I can help with Security+, Network+, AWS fundamentals, cybersecurity fundamentals, networking, vulnerability management, SIEM/log analysis, incident response, cloud and endpoint security, and security engineering. I can also help people trying to enter cybersecurity or prepare for technical interviews.
Whether you’re studying for a certification, taking a course, preparing for an interview, or simply trying to become more confident with cybersecurity, I’d be happy to help you build both the knowledge and practical understanding you need.
