I am a certified K–12 Special Education teacher with a bachelor's degree in Special Education and a master's degree in Sociology of Education. Over the course of my career, I've taught students across grade levels and ability levels in public schools, providing instruction in core academic subjects while also supporting executive functioning, study skills, organization, and social-emotional learning. As a middle school Special Education Department Head, I collaborated with teachers and families to ensure students received individualized, effective support both inside and outside the classroom.
In addition to my classroom experience, I have extensive experience tutoring students one-on-one and in small groups. I've helped students strengthen foundational reading skills, catch up after academic setbacks, build confidence in challenging subjects, and develop strategies that make learning more manageable and successful. I enjoy identifying each student's unique strengths and learning style, then creating personalized lessons that are engaging, structured, and aligned with their goals. I'm also experienced in reviewing curriculum, designing individualized tutoring plans, and incorporating IEP goals into instruction to provide continuity between school and tutoring.
My goal is to help every student experience success—not just by improving grades or test scores, but by building the confidence, independence, and skills they need to become lifelong learners. Whether your child needs targeted academic intervention, executive functioning support, or enrichment, I strive to create a positive, encouraging environment where students feel challenged, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential. I am passionate about community building and equity in education, and I look forward to working together!
