I graduated magna cum laude with a degree in pre-pharmacy and a minor in biology in 2025. I am currently in pursuit of my doctor of pharmacy degree and will complete that in 2029. Throughout my entire life, my passion in school has been centered around the sciences and learning as much as I possibly can about them. Through my pursuit of this passion, I realized that I love helping other students understand specifically difficult subjects that they may be struggling in. What worked best for me when studying was utilizing practice problems and more specifically active recall to better understand and retain information for longer periods of time. The sciences require allowing the students to learn from their mistakes, rather than just strictly lecturing at them and then expecting content to be retained. Learning should be fun and something that students look forward to, rather than a burden that makes them resent school.
My tutoring experience consists of both helping classmates and friends and working for my college's tutoring center to provide lessons to students. The subjects were mainly focused around the sciences, specifically biology and chemistry. The ages of tutoring that I specifically focused on were college-aged students; however, I am not opposed to working with younger students in middle school or high school level courses. While my experience is mainly around those two subjects, I am also well versed in algebra as well.
I care about the success of the students I work with very much and will do as much as I can to help them. I am always receptive to feedback and taking advice where needed. I respond promptly and will do my best to accommodate sessions whenever possible.
